Through use of motion graphics and iterative studies, Saxo Bank has found more powerful and immersive ways of inspiring new and existing clients. User testing shows increased engagement.

Problem

Saxo Bank caters to more than 660.000 investors and traders, in more than 18 countries and over 20 languages. This poses a challenge of balancing localisation and a coherent tone of voice across borders.

Saxo Bank needed an effective and engaging way of showcasing their investment and trading platforms to a wide variety of markets. This becomes a challenge when content is translated to multiple languages and various nationalities have unique aesthetic preferences.

Solution

A platform animation showcasing the general feel of Saxo Bank's investment and trading platforms was created for the frontpage. This minimises the amount of versioning across nationalities, resulting in higher consistency, while keeping production and maintenance costs down.

Animated illustrations for the Inspiration and Wealthcare pages of home.saxo were developed to create engaging, dynamic appetisers for the two offerings.

Frontpage Sections design

Multiple iterations were created for the frontpage sections, in order to find the art direction of home.saxo. Shown here is the final version.

Explorations using larger images in order to create a more immersive experience. Technical limitations created natural boundaries for what was possible: In this case, a simpler layout was needed to make the sections work technically.

Use of perspective creates a sense of space and lightness, emphasising the low entry barrier for new investors just starting out. This art direction proved to be too far from Saxo Banks visual identity, and a more straightforward approach was pursued.

Multiple iterations exploring how the modules of the sections can be juxtaposed, creating various visual priorities and styles.

An animation for the inspiration section on the frontpage was created, to give investors a taste of the many ways you can grow your knowledge and skill as an investor with Saxo Bank.

This motion graphic highlights the simple nature of investing with managed portfolios, through Saxo Bank. The animation uses elements from Saxo Banks mobile platform to show that investing can be as straightforward as tap of a button.

Saxo Bank's two platforms cater to two different target groups: A broader audience of investors and a more professional group of day-traders. The differences between the two platforms and the flexibility of investing with Saxo Bank is showed more effectively through animation than by showing multiple screenshots side-by-side.

Frontpage localisation
& campaigns

Saxo Bank acquired the Dutch bank Bink Bank in 2021. Creating the best possible transition for the many customers of Bink Bank was crucial for the success of the merger.

This is the localised, temporary frontpage for the new Dutch clients. A more down to earth visual language was used to match the tone of voice clients were used to at Bink Bank.

A campaign running on the Swiss version of Saxo Bank's frontpage, targeting mass market investors and professional day traders.

Inspiration pages

The inspiration pages of Saxo Bank play an important role in creating trust with clients and giving new investors the confidence to start investing. The many offerings are important in creating and maintaining a relationsship with Saxo Bank's investors and traders.

This project had the goal of updating the headers of the inspiration pages for a more relevant and engaging experience.

Webinars have been one of the fastest growing offerings of Saxo Bank the past years. A new featured banner for webinars was created to reflect this new demand. Links between the various inspiration pages were updated as well.

Investment &
trading platforms

The Investment & trading platforms are the backbone of Saxo Bank's value proposition. The Investor platform is targeted towards the more casual mass market portion of the banks clients.

Shown here are before and after visual updates were made to the platforms.

The trader platform is targeted towards professional day traders. Visual updates were made to make the platforms more presentable to new clients.

Wealthcare

Explorations of layout for the testimonial section on the Saxo Wealthcare page. Creating a personal connection and telling the story of success is key to creating trust and motivation for new investors.
